Their meaty texture and deep flavor makes them a favorite in vegetarian dishes, and they serve as a healthy source of lean protein, iron, and many other vitamins and antioxidants. Bush habit plants will form short runners, but should not need trellising.

Black Turtle Beans should be direct seeded in a location with full sun after all danger of frost has passed. Dry beans will be ready to harvest in about 90 days. Each 14 gram packet contains a minimum of 75 seeds.
